What a second opinion is

Our reports are written by consultant radiologists registered with the General Medical Council. A report is a radiologist’s opinion on the scan images and the information you give us. It is meant to help you and your doctors understand your scan.

What it cannot do

  • It is not a substitute for being seen by a doctor. The radiologist does not examine you and may not have your full medical history.
  • It does not replace the report from the hospital or clinic that did your scan, or your treating doctor’s advice.
  • It is only as complete as the images and information we receive.

Clinical responsibility

Your treating doctor remains responsible for your care. Please share your report with your GP or consultant and discuss it with them before making any decision about treatment.
